How do TheWineInsiders rate wines?

Members sample each wine “blind” (labels covered) to prevent any preconceived biases related to price, region or winery. Published ratings are based exclusively upon the overall quality of the wine when tasted. Quality ratings are determined according to a proprietary attribute scale that includes established criteria such as complexity, finish, age-worthiness, etc. Ratings do not take into consideration the price of the bottle, leaving wine consumers the option to determine if a bottle represents a ‘good value’ according to their individual perspective.
